Gaza’s civil defence, which oversees rescue operations, says one of its members was killed in an Israeli strike targeting his tent near al-Mawasi, Al Jazeera reports.

It identified the member as Abdul Rahman Maher Abu Latifa, who it said had worked as a firefighter in Bani Suheila near Khan Younis. Both of his parents were also killed in the Israeli attack, said the civil defence.

Israeli attacks have killed 137 members of Gaza’s civil defence since the start of the country’s offensive in the Palestinian enclave.
