GUJRANWALA, May 18: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company would not shut any feeder in its range during summer except for unavoidable circumstances or cooling the overloaded transformers.

GEPCO chief executive Brig Saifullah Khalid said here on Thursday at the local chamber of commerce and industry that two grid stations on College Road and Pasrur Road has been overloaded and the company would install high power transformers of 40MDA for smooth supply of power to consumers.

The company had to shut some feeders to avoid heating up of transformers for short time. There would be no loadshedding. Special teams have been constituted to repair the line in case of any fault, he added.

He said the programme to shut down some feeders from May 18 to 20 have been cancelled and now no feeder would be closed.
