Man protests son’s arrest

PESHAWAR, May 18: A man from Wazir Bagh has threatened to kill himself and members of his family if the government does not find his son, who, he alleged, has been kidnapped by secret agencies.

Addressing a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, Mohammad Sharif said that his son Shahzad Gul was arrested in September last year without any charge and he had neither been freed nor his family had any clue to his whereabouts.

He said his son was working in Rawalpindi and he came to know about his arrest from a TV bulletin. He said his son had no links with Lashkar-i-Jhangvi or any other terrorist or banned organisation. Mr Sharif urged the government to present him before a court of law.
