LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) former chief justice Mian Allah Nawaz passed away on Wednesday. He was 87.

Born in 1938 at Bahawalpur, he did his LLB from the University Law College, Lahore, in 1962.

He was enrolled as an advocate of the LHC in 1966 and appointed as a high court judge in 1988.

He was elevated to the office of the chief justice in 2000 and served in the position for five months before his superannuation on July 17, 2000.
