ISLAMABAD, May 18: A German company Rohde and Schwarz has shown interest in increasing investment in Pakistan in areas of radio communication, radio monitoring, encryption, test and measurement and broadcasting equipment.

This was stated by president and CEO of the company Manfred Fleischmann in a meeting with Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan here on Thursday.

An official announcement said that the company had already made an investment to the tune of Rs500 million in Pakistan.

Mr Fleischmann also expressed his interest in transfer of technology to Pakistan as well as development of the local expertise.

Commerce minister appreciated the company for showing confidence in the investors’ friendly business environment in Pakistan and their inclination for the transfer of technology and development of local expertise.

He assured all possible support to the company for their future investment plans in highly specialised fields of radio communication systems. Mr Khan said his ministry would provide full cooperation to the company in creating a strategic market for them.
