LAHORE, May 17: Former South African Test cricketer Jonty Rhodes will receive US$1000 per day during his 14-day stint as Pakistan fielding coach. He will train Pakistan team from June 10 to 24 during the camp which will start from June 9 to prepare the national team for the forthcoming tour of England.

Besides his US$1,000 per day, Rhodes will be paid return business class fare as well as free boarding and lodging during his short visit. Rhodes is expected to be re-engaged for another stint later this year for a similar exercise. It is expected Rhodes’ visit will cost PCB a cool US$20,000.

PCB chairman Shaharyar M. Khan had admitted that Rhodes's visit to Pakistan would not make big improvement in the fielding area.

The PCB has been relying on South Africans for coaching staff since the arrival of coach Bob Woolmer who is also a South African.

Later, Woolmer brought in trainer and physiotherapist and now fielding coach from South Africa.
