TOBA TEK SINGH: A sanitation worker of the Faisalabad Allied Hospital was arrested on Saturday for allegedly attempting to rape the seven-year-old daughter of a nurse in the burn unit.

In his FIR registered under sections 376 and 511 of the PPC, the victim’s father said, his minor daughter went along with his wife to the hospital.

He alleged that the accused overpowered her and attempted to rape her. However, he said that people rescued the child from him.

REMAND: Faisalabad Crimes Division Court Judge Muhammad Ashfaq Malik sent former Fesco board of directors chairman Malik Tahseen Awan to district jail on a 14-day judicial remand in the online fraud case.

He was produced before the court on Saturday by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) investigation officer after his previous remand ended.

He will be produced again before the court on Aug 16.

SUSPENDED: Jhang District Education Authority CEO Aqila Intikhab suspended junior clerk Muhammad Khalid from service on Saturday after it was revealed that he was also practicing as a quack and had allegedly caused the death of a child.

Reports said that Sher Muhammad of Basti Ghoggewali took his nine-year-old ailing son Kashif to the clinic of the accused. He administered a painkiller injection to treat the child’s abdomen pain. However, his condition deteriorated afterwards and he died instantly. Jhang police spokesperson said the City police had arrested the accused.

COP ARRESTED: After a video of torture of an under arrest accused went viral on social media, Factory Area police ASI Ghulam Mustafa was arrested on Saturday after Faisalabad CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umar took notice.

A press release said that Iqbal Division SP Saeed Ahmad held the ASI guilty of torturing a citizen by hanging him from the roof of a room in the police station.

MURDERED: A woman had allegedly been slaughtered by her husband in the Ismail Town area of Faisalabad.

Accused Muhammad Umar informed the police that his wife Robina Kausar (59) had committed suicide by cutting her own throat after a quarrel over their daughter’s marriage.

However, her parents complained to the Ghulam Muhammad Abad police that her husband had murdered her. Police have started investigation.

ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender after 16 years who allegedly killed six persons and brought him back to Faisalabad from abroad on Saturday.

Police spokesperson said accused Muhammad Saleem and his accomplices had shot dead six persons of a rival group in an attack on their car near Chak 21-JB.

The Sahianwala police had registered a case against the accused but he had managed to flee abroad.
