KHUZDAR: Two alleged highway robbers were killed and another was injured in an encounter early Thursday morning between the Levies Force personnel and robbers on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway in Ornach area of Khuzdar district.

Khuzdar DC Yasar Iqbal said the encounter took place in the Ornach area early Thursday morning. The robbers blocked the highway and attempted to loot passengers traveling on the highway, he said.

However, Levies Force personnel quickly moved towards the spot and cordoned off the area. The armed robbers opened fire upon spotting the Levies personnel, who returned fire.

A heavy exchange of fire continued for an hour. Two robbers were killed and another was injured, who was later arrested by Levies personnel.
