KARACHI: Four suspected members of a banned separatist militant group were arrested over charges of killing a man in Matli, district Badin.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Karachi and federal intelligence agency jointly carried out an intelligence-based operation at Drigh Road Station in the city and arrested four suspects, a CTD press statement.

The suspects were arrested when they were coming from Punjab to Karachi in a train. They were wanted in different cases in Punjab.

They were identified as Mohammed Sajjad alias Shadu, Ubaid Ali alias Ubaidi, Mohammed Umair Asghar and Shakeel Ahmed.

During interrogation, the held suspects revealed that they had gunned down a man, Abdul Rehman s/o Razaullah, in Matli on May 18, 2025, whose FIR was registered there under terror charges.

The weapon used in the murder has also been recovered from their custody, which has been sent to the police’s forensic science lab for investigation purposes.

The held suspects also revealed that they had stayed at a hotel in Hyderabad for five days for the purpose of carrying out the killing of the deceased. They continued his reconnaissance till May 13 and when they got an opportunity on May 18, they targeted him outside a barber shop.
