The “worst-case scenario of famine” is “now unfolding” in Gaza, warns a UN-backed monitor, adding that air-dropping food into the Palestinian territory is insufficient, AFP reports.
The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) said air drops “will not be enough to reverse the humanitarian catastrophe”, saying only “immediate, unimpeded” humanitarian access into Gaza can stop rapidly rising “starvation and death.”
