Pakistan extend winning run at U-19 volleyball

LAHORE: Pakistan continued their impressive form at the U-19 World Volleyball Championship, registering their fourth consecutive straight-sets victory in Group ‘A’ with a 3-0 win over Puerto Rico in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Monday.

The national side prevailed with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, and 25-15, maintaining their unbeaten run without dropping a set in the tournament so far.

Pakistan accumulated a total of 72 points in the match, with a dominant attacking display contributing 39 points. The team also added eight points through blocks and two through serves. Additionally, Puerto Rico conceded 23 points through unforced errors.

Mohammad Yahya led the scoring with 16 points, while Mohammad Irfan chipped in with 14.

Pakistan, who currently top the Group ‘A’ standings, will face Argentina in their final group fixture on Tuesday.
