KARACHI: A young man was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack near Power House Chowrangi in North Karachi on Sunday, said police.

Bilal Colony police station SHO Nasir Khan said that 23-year-old Saddam Imam was riding a motorcycle when armed assailants indicated to him to stop. The youth left his bike and ran towards footpath. The assailants chased him and opened fire on him.

He sustained critical bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The officer said the motive for the murder could not be ascertained till late in the night.

He said the suspects did not take away anything.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was gunned down in Lyari late on Saturday night.

Kalri police SHO Saleem Marwat said that Mohammed Adil was shot and killed by unidentified suspects at Khadda Market near Khokhar Street.

He said the victim sold burgers at a roadside stall in the area.
