Taxila: At least 20 persons, including two transgender persons, were arrested for violating the sound system act during a wedding function held in an open plot in the village of Kalu Kalan, within the jurisdiction of Hazro Police Station on Friday.

Loud music performances were reported to have disturbed the surrounding community.

Sources said police received a complaint that a loud sound system had been installed during a marriage celebration in the village, causing a disturbance to nearby residents. Acting promptly, a police raiding party was dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, police found that a man had organised his wedding function with excessively loud music and had invited transgender dancers to perform dances.

The sound system was confiscated from the scene, and an FIR was registered under relevant sections of the law. Further investigation is underway.
