Bonus for women cricketers

Published May 17, 2006

LAHORE, May 16: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc committee chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan, has approved bonus for the women wing for hosting Asia Cup in Karachi, last year, in which Pakistan failed to win any match.

Interestingly, the PCB did not take any action against the Wing for placing a weak team that remained at the bottom in the four-nation competition.

The PCB had spent millions of rupees on the event, despite the fact the new look women wing was unable to raise a strong team in a short time.

The women wing chairperson, Mira Phailbus, pleaded before the ad hoc committee chairman that bonus was the right of the wing as it worked hard to host the event.
