TAXILA: Police on Thursday arrested a man and his father for killing a mother of seven-month toddler in her house in mohallah College Chowk in the limits of Pindigheb Police station on July 19.

According to the FIR registered with Pindigheb police, Mohammad Karim, a resident of Afghanistan currently living in Dirgi Malakand, reported that his daughter Bibi, was married two years ago to Jawad Khan and the couple had a son.

Karim stated that his daughter had been facing regular domestic abuse, and her husband frequently suspected her character. On July 19, Jawad along with his father Khalid attacked her with a knife and later shot her dead and fled.

Police on Thursday through human and digital intelligence traced both the nominated accused and sent them behind bars.

Meanwhile, Police arrested a nominated accused who allegedly attempted to rape a teenage girl in her house in the limits of Basal station on Thursday.

Police while quoting the family of the victim said the 15-year-old girl was alone at her house when Mumriaz Khan entered the house by scaling the wall and attempted to rape her. As she voiced alarm, the suspect managed to escape.

Later police traced the suspect and arrested hum after registration of a case against him.
