LAHORE: Ajoka Theatre paid expressed tributes to the renowned radio and television artist Yasmin Tahir who passed away on Saturday.
The daughter of the legendary literary couple Imtiaz Ali Taj and Hijab Imtiaz Ali and wife of the famous actor and director Naeem Tahir, Yasmin captivated radio audiences with her melodious voice before leaving a lasting impact as a distinguished TV actor. She also portrayed Mrs. Alys Faiz in Ajoka’s acclaimed play, Rozan-e-Zindan Se.
In a joint statement, Ajoka’s Executive Director Shahid Nadeem and Chairperson Zara Salman hailed the late Yasmin as an accomplished artist and a graceful human being.
They also acknowledged her talent as a writer, saying she carried forward the proud legacy of her parents, while providing invaluable support and inspiration to her equally talented husband.
She also played a pivotal role in nurturing her sons, Faran and Ali, both of whom have made their mark as actors on the national and international stages.
Nadeem and Salman concluded by stating that Yasmin’s lifelong commitment to the arts would continue to inspire generations of artists and her passion and contributions would always be remembered.
