MUZAFFARABAD: Four members of a family, including two women, lost their lives when their jeep fell into a deep ravine in the Neelum Valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, officials said.

The driver, while negotiating a narrow curve, reversed the five-door jeep slightly near Seri village, but a portion of the road caved in due to which the vehicle tumbled 300 feet down the hillside, Neelum Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Janjua told Dawn.

The family was returning to their native Jagran village from Kundal Shahi.

The deceased were identified as Haji Said Alam, 65, his wife Akbar Jan, 50; brother-in-law Irfan, 55; sister-in-law Afsar Jan, 60. The injured Haseeb, 12, Zeeshan, 10, and his sister Kosar Bibi, 14, were shifted to CMH, Muzaffarabad.
