RAWALPINDI: Three female police officers have been appointed as additional Station House Officers (SHOs) at three police stations as part of the Punjab government’s women empowerment initiative.

A police spokesman said that the appointments were made by CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani.

Inspector Farsia Naz has been appointed as additional SHO of the City police station, Inspector Syeda Maria Batool as additional SHO of the Chaklala police station, and Inspector Amna Shoaib as additional SHO of the Cantt police station.

The appointment of these lady officers is part of the women empowerment vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the spokesman added.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said that, in the first phase, female officers are being appointed as additional SHOs, and in the next phase, they will also be appointed as SHOs.

The CPO said that women are performing excellently in all fields. In the Punjab Police, female officers are serving alongside their male counterparts and are skilled in all areas, including investigation and operations.

The services of female police officers are valuable and commendable, he added.
