HARIPUR: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three persons including a seminary teacher on charges of molesting boys in different parts of the district.

Two cases were reported from Saddar circle while the other was reported to have occurred in Khanpur area. The Khalabat Township police said that the first incident of child molestation was reported from sector No 3 Khalabat Township where a ten-year old boy was on the way back home after attending a tuition class when Muhammad Hussain, resident of the same locality, forcibly took him to an under construction house and assaulted him. The accused also threatened the victim of dire consequences if he disclosed his name, the latter told the police.

The second case of child molestation was reported from village Banda Munir Khan where a teacher of a madrassa allegedly assaulted a visually impaired minor boy.

Saddar police quoted the uncle of the child victim as saying that his five years old nephew was blind by birth and learning holly Quran by heart in the local seminary situated within the premises of village mosque.

He said a few days back his nephew suddenly refused to go to the madrassa, but when his mother insisted him to go to the madrassa, he started crying and disclosed that a teacher had molested him.

With regard to the third incident, the Khanpur police said that a 14-year old boy had lodged complaint against Akram Ali Raja accusing him of forcibly assaulting him in village Nikra when he was on the way back home.

The police said that according to initial medical examination the assault against two victims had been confirmed by the doctors but for the detailed analysis the material had been sent for forensic examination. Police said that all the accused had been arrested.

GIRL DIES IN ROOF COLLAPSE: A minor girl died while her grand-parents injured when the roof of the cattle ranch caved in due to heavy rain, police and area people said here on Thursday.

The police quoted Muhammad Aslam of Muhallah Muslim Abad Mankraey as saying that he along with his wife and their granddaughter were cleaning a room of the cattle ranch on Thursday morning when the roof collapsed due to heavy rain, as a result his granddaughter Noor Naveed, 7, got buriedunder the debris and later died.
