KARACHI, May 15: Justice Ghulam Rabbani of the Sindh High Court on Monday extended protective bail granted to former Sindh Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, his brother Maqbool Shaikh and others till June 12 in an alleged case of kidnapping for ransom and seven cases of corruption.

According to prosecution, the applicant kidnapped Umer Iqbal, son of Zafar Iqbal, a local businessmen. The victim was released allegedly after payment of Rs70,000 at the residence of the then senior minister Imtiaz Shaikh.

The same bench also extended bail before arrest granted to Imtiaz Shaikh and others in seven cases of alleged corruption (land scams) till June 12.—APP
