KARACHI: A Pakistan Navy (PN) employee was shot dead in Saeedabad on Tuesday.

Keamari SSP Faizan Ali told Dawn that Mohammed Nadeem, 50, was on his way home on a motorcycle after completing his duty when unknown assailant(s) opened fire on him near Sector 14-C and fled. He was taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, where he was pronounced dead.

The officer ruled out the possibility of a robbery and suggested that a personal enmity could be a possible motive.

The victim was a civilian employee of the navy.

Man killed, Coast Guard employee wounded in ‘gunfight’

A man was shot dead and another wounded in a gunfight over a personal dispute in Baldia Town on Tuesday.

Ittehad Town SHO Rao Shabbir told Dawn that Habib Raheem, 35, was killed and Naseeb Shah, 35, was wounded after they both opened fire on each other.

The officer said the police were waiting for a statement from the wounded suspect, who is an employee of the Pakistan Coast Guards. He sustained a bullet wound to the neck and was admitted to PN Shifa Hospital.
