SAHIWAL, May 14: Robbers took away cash and valuables worth over Rs1.2 million here on Saturday night in four hits. On Church Road, three motorcyclists deprived Abdul Waheed of his car (SLJ-4080) and a cash of Rs17,000. Later, they made off with Rs100,000 from the shop of Sheikh Imran Mehmood at Arifwala Morr.

In another incident, two robbers drove away with a loader (LXZ-1053) owned by army officer Yousaf Niaz from Police Lines Road. On GT Road near Chak 21/14-L, three motorcyclists intercepted a vehicle (MND-5160) of a medicine company and took away Rs150,000.

Police have registered the cases under Sections 392 and 394 of the PPC.

POWER OUTAGES: Scores of people have expressed their resentment over the unscheduled loadshedding here at X-Block of Farid Town Scheme No.3 where power supply remained suspended for 14 hours on Saturday night.

Reports said power supply remained suspended from Mepco grid stations at Yousafwala, Qadirabad, Tariq bin Ziad Colony and Sahiwal City. An electricity transformer of Kot Farid Khan broke down and could not be replaced despite a lapse of 36 hours.
