LAHORE: The Agriculture Department will invite applications for the second phase of the Green Tractor scheme in August, a departmental meeting was told here on Wednesday.

Ten thousand locally manufactured 50-65 horsepower tractors will be given with a subsidy of Rs0.5 million per unit and another 10,000 tractors (75HP and above, both local and imported) will receive a Rs1m subsidy, the meeting chaired by Minister Ashiq Kirmani was told.

Regarding Model Agriculture Malls, it was informed that 98 per cent of the construction work on four malls had been completed, while 10 more malls would be established in the next phase.

Likewise, 2,000 additional graduates will be hired in the second phase of the Agriculture Graduates Internship programme.
