KARACHI, May 13: Three-year-old chestnut colt, Reyan King, is fancied to stretch his winning run in the Summer Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Having won two races on trot he is pitted in a field of 11 contenders in the five furlongs sixth race of the day restricted for Pakistani horses in class V1.

Following his facile win over four-year-old chestnut colt, Johnnie Walker, on May 7 by three lengths with Rafiq astride, Reyan King starts as our days’ best.

The horse to be watched in the same race is four-year-old chestnut filly, Patricia, who is expected to make amends of successive losses.

Reyan King should be chased by Kicking King and Tharkyee for the following two places.

A card of seven races has been drawn for the day.

The first race of the programme begins at 2.30pm.

Three-year-old chestnut colt, Red Rufus, should make amends by picking up the spoils in the opening event.

Owned by Syeda Abida Hussain and trained by Mansoor Alam, the sibling settled for second place in the last outing.

Drawn in a pack of 12 aspirants, he should be followed by Baba Jani and Lucky Friend, both four-year-old bay colts.

Silver City from the stables of Syed Ali Gohar Shah is tipped to grab honours in the second race to be run over a sprinting distance of five furlongs.

After emerging victorious in the Jan 8 meeting, he was unimpressive and failed to finish on the board.

Qandhar and Sparkling Lady stand a fair chance for securing places. The former was barred from the race last Sunday at the starting gate.

Trained by Allah Judrio, chestnut colt, Terrorist, may upset the applecart if tried by the connections.

Mr. Nasrullah’s Desperado who was off colour in his last outing, is poised to come up to the mark by grabbing the next race.

Lucky View and Choti Dunya are expected to finish second and third among 16 runners barring last minute withdrawal.

Six-year-old Raka Poshi who had to be content with second slot in the last outing, should gallop to victory in the fourth race while filly Sky Girl should land the fifth race.

Four-year-old bay colt, Harry Potter, is tipped to dominate the concluding event which has a shortest field of six runners.

Following is the field and our selection.
