SAHIWAL, May 13: Panicked bandits killed a man and injured another as they resorted to firing when a car they had snatched was jammed by the tracking device.

Reports said three armed bandits on Friday night snatched Rs20,000 cash and a brand new car at gunpoint from a local trader, Sheikh Aamir, when he was returning home after closing his business at Jinnah Chowk at 9pm on Friday.

As the bandits tried to flee away by the snatched car, the car engine halted due to the tracking device fitted on it. The desperate bandits on failing to restart the car, resorted to indiscriminate fire which killed a passerby Tahir Saleem and injured another, Muhammad Hafiz. The bandits escaped from the scene.

Fateh Sher police registered the case under section 392, 302, PPC.
