SUKKUR: A ban on the free movement of animals on roads, in markets, around canals and at other public places in Sukkur city will be enforced from July 15, 2025.

Sukkur Deputy Commissioner Dr M.B. Raja Dharejo on Tuesday issued a public notice informing the livestock owners and general public of the city that under Section 144, imposed by the Sukkur commissioner, no person is allowed to leave animals roaming freely on city roads or around canals.

The purpose of the ban is to ensure smooth traffic flow, improve health and sanitation and public safety.

The notice warns that violators will face legal action and strict measures will be taken against them. The district administration appeals to the public to cooperate in implementing this decision for the betterment of the city.
