TOBA TEK SINGH: The Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference-2025 will provide much-needed exposure to industrialists and inventors of the upcountry to understand and cater to the fundamental needs of Pakistan Navy, says Rear Admiral Kashif Munir , Director General, Naval Research & Development Institute (NRDI).

Addressing the business community in the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) on Friday, he said that the four-day mega event would be held in Karachi in November. He said that Pakistan has a 1,000km long coastal belt, mighty ocean and vibrant sea ports and |”we must exploit this huge potential of the blue economy.”

He particularly mentioned the indigenous technical development programme of Pak Navy and said that Pakistan was already producing fire-guarded cloth for pipes and fire proof cloth for uniform but we could not fully exploit the huge untapped potential available in this sector.

He said the textilers from Faisalabad should diversify their investment portfolio and contribute to the speedy growth of the blue economy.
