LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has suspended from service its 19 officials in connection with an inquiry into the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) affairs.

The suspended officials include a deputy director, seven assistant directors, two inspectors and nine sub-inspectors.

According to a notification, the action was taken “in pursuance of the findings and recommendations of the inquiry report on issues related to the Lesco under the chairmanship of Shahid Khan (former federal secretary) received vide ministry of interior and narcotics control and inquiry report – corrupt practices, connivance of Lesco and FIA officials – under the chairmanship of Sohail Habib Tajik (additional secretary admin) received vide interior ministry.”
