RAWALPINDI, May 11: The 10-day Pakistan-US-Afghanistan military exercises ‘Inspired Gambit’ involving about 500 troops will conclude on Friday.

The exercises were conducted at different locations under varying terrain conditions and challenging environment.

The troops practiced conduct of air assault and special operations, both during day and night. Soldiers from the three armies worked as part of one squad which enabled them to understand each other’s language and operating procedures.

Vice Chief of Army Staff, General Ahsan Saleem Hyat witnessed the exercise on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the professionalism, skills and endurance of troops. He said that exercises conducted under challenging conditions paid rich dividends.

Earlier, the Vice Chief of Army Staff and officers from the three countries witnessed air assault and anti-terrorist operations. Gunship and air assault helicopters of army and PAF fighter aircraft participated in the exercise.
