Malir Gym, PCC in last four

KARACHI, May 11: Malir Gymkhana and Pakistan CC moved into the semifinals of the KCCA Centenary Inter-club cricket tournament after finishing unbeaten in their respective pools on Wednesday.

Malir Gymkhana outclassed United CC by nine wickets at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground to top Group ‘B’.

Slow left-armer Rashid Hanif claimed four for 24 as United CC were dismissed for 165. Tanvir Hussain (61) and Alam Khan (47) were the main scorers.

Khurram Manzoor then took over by hammering an unbeaten 75, including the winning stroke – a six – as Malir Gymkhana needed just 20-4 overs to reach the target. Aamir Hanif made 59.

Pakistan CC topped Group ‘A’ with a 61-run win over Asifabad Sports at the Student Sports Ground.
