BRIDGETOWN, May 11: International Cricket Council approved 13 venues expected to stage matches for 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Don Lockerbie, ICC's venue development director, said nine host countries had prepared well for what organizers believe will be biggest sporting event ever staged in the region.

“All venues are on stream and we are doing mighty fine. We are where we believe we should be at this time,” he said.

Lockerbie who also visited Kensington Oval, venue for April 28 final, said only venue that concerned him was Brian Lara Stadium being constructed in Trinidad.

Meanwhile, Cricket World Cup Local Organising Committee in Trinidad will have a dummy check on security, medical and evacuation plans during two One-day Internationals between India and West Indies later this month.

India and West Indies clash for final two games of five-match series in Port-of-Spain on May 26 and 28.—Agencies
