RAWALPINDI: A woman and her teenage daughter allegedly committed suicide by consuming poisonous tablets due to domestic issues in the limit of Dhamial police station on Thursday.

Mohammad Faisal, a resident of Chak Jalal Deen, lodged an FIR with Dhamial police saying that Tahira Bibi,40, wife of Shabir Akhtar, was his sister and she had four daughters and a son.

He said that on Tuesday at 9pm his sister Tahira Bibi informed him that she and her daughter Insa Bibi were tortured by her husband Shabir Akhtar.

On receiving the phone call of his sister, he rushed to her house and settled the issue.

He further said that on Wednesday Shabir Akhtar again had a quarrel with his sister and her daughter.

And after receiving a phone call of his sister, he went to her house and found his sister, her husband and daughter were quarreling.

While quoting his sister’s remarks, he said in the FIR: “We’ve had enough of Shabir Akhtar’s violent behaviour and torture and we will kill ourselves”.

Later, he claimed, his sister and niece took poisonous medicines, which deteriorated their condition. Subsequently, they were shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital but they could not survive.

He said that his sister and niece killed themselves by consuming poisonous tablets due to Shabir Akhtar’s violent behavior.

Following the complaint of Mohammad Faisal, the police have registered an FIR under section 322 PPc (Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), which deals with “Qatl-bis-sabab” (causing death by negligence), is non-bailable) and launched an investigation.
