KARACHI, May 10 : Pakistan Army were humbled in inaugural match of second AFC President Cup when they were overwhelmed by Tatung (Chinese Taipei) on Wednesday at Sarawak Stadium, Kuching (Malaysia).

Army had to blame themselves for defeat as they were on the defensive from the outset as their opponents took a 2-0 lead. Both goals were crafted by Tatung captain Wu Chun-I.

In the 11th minute, his attempt towards goal was headed in by defender Ejaz Ahmed for an own goal.

Fourteen minutes later, Wu was goal-bound when he was felled in the box by Umar Draz and referee Ram Krishna Gosh promptly pointed to the spot. Wu took the penalty himself and it was 2-0.

There was a semblance of a fight back in the 29th minute when Pakistan Army pulled one back through Jaffar Hussain.

Tatung regained their two-goal advantage four minutes into the second half when Hsu Che-hao who took advantage of a defensive lapse.

Chuang Yao-Tsung completed the scoring for Tatung.

Army's other matches will be against Khemara (Cambodia) on Friday, and Transport United (Bhutan) on May 14 in Group-A at Sarawak Stadium.
