RAHIM YAR KHAN, May 10: Four tenants suffered injuries, one of them serious, in an attack by the new owners of a farm in Chak 95/P on Wednesday.

It is learnt that Faqir Muhammad was watering his fields when he was attacked with an axe by the tractor driver of the farm owner and his father. His wife, father-in-law and a relative came to his rescue and they were also injured.

They were taken to the Sheikh Zayed Hospital by a relative Abdul Rashid where the condition of Faqir Muhammad was stated to be serious.

Faqir has reportedly told police that the accused attacked them at the behest of a former PML-N leader who has joined the ruling party. He is the elder brother of tehsil nazim.

Though police have registered a case, but the they have not included the name of the PML leader in the FIR due to political pressure.
