MIRPURKHAS, May 10: Paramedical staff of Mirpurkhas district took out a rally on Wednesday under the aegis of Pakistan Paramedical Association, the Mirpurkhas chapter, from civil hospital and demanded approval of the service structure.
They were led by provincial general secretary, comrade Pershotam.
The participants of the rally carried banners and placards inscribed with demands seeking approval of their service structure.
Wearing black armbands, the participants marched on the main roads.
They reached at the market chowk and also staged a sit-in. Speaking to protesters, Mr Pershotam said that the paramedics were denied of their basic rights.
He asked the paramedical staff to actively participate in the proposed protest demonstration to be held on May 17 in Karachi. He said that their protest campaign would continue till approval of the service structure.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Dr Khalid Jatt, comrade Kirshan, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Abdul Jabbar and Aijaz Kanio. A group of four paramedical staff also observed a token hunger strike within the premises of the hospital.
They were Abbas Ali Shah, Sanaullah Panhwar, Abid Nizamani and Aijaz Kanio.
