KARACHI, May 9: The joint opposition in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday submitted requisition for a Sindh Assembly session to discuss the issue of demolition of katchi abadis and old villages in Karachi by the city government.

Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman of the Pakistan People’s Party, submitted the requisition with the assembly secretariat on behalf of the joint opposition. He was accompanied by other PPP MPAs, including Sassui Palejo, Farheen Mughal and Nasreen Chandio.

Later, talking to newsmen at assembly building, the MPAs told newsmen that more than 45 members had signed the requisition.

They recalled that the previous session had been requisitioned to discuss the same issue but the government did not allow a debate and prorogued the session.—PPI
