KARACHI, May 9: Berthing activity was brisk as four ships were accommodated berths at QICT, EVT and IOCB during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Meanwhile, four more ships carrying chemicals, seeds and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 67 per cent as six ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, sugar, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 58,201 tons comprising 46,709 tons of import and 11,492 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as San Clemente, Nipha Naree and Anette Kosan left the port while Austria was due to depart.

Four ships, Northern Bell, Stolt Avance, Stolt Avenir and CMA CGM Nilgai, carrying diesel oil, edible oil and containers were due to arrive at the port.
