TOBA TEK SINGH, May 8: A Gojra special magistrate completed the trial of cases of serving food on weddings in time on the directive of the Supreme Court. He sentenced eight people on Monday for violation of Wedding Ordinance whose cases were submitted by the DDO (revenue).

Ashraf of Mahdi Mohallah, Ishaq and Jafar of Hafeez Park were handed down one month’s imprisonment and Rs100,000 fine each while Majeed of New Plots, Sattar of Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Waheed of Railway Colony, Iftikhar of Sarwar Colony and Ishaq of Sharifpura were sentenced to one month imprisonment.

The court acquitted four other people.

MURDER: An 18 years old girl belonging to a poor family of Rehmanpura locality who was kidnapped and raped, died in hospital on Monday.

‘N’ was kidnapped by Asif Maani of Ghosiabad, Pirmahal, on Sunday night. He raped the girl and when she fell unconscious, he threw her near her home. Her parents took her to a private clinic where doctors advised them to take to DHQ hospital where she died.

According to a source, the girl was given some sedatives.

Meanwhile, the girl’s mother gave a written application to the city police claiming that her daughter was divorced and was living with her.

She said her relative Asif took her in his car to Pirmahal where he poisoned her.

She did not give any reason for the murder.
