TOBA TEK SINGH: The Chenab Club secretary issued on Wednesday a show-cause notice to one of its members, a police officer, for posting a video on social media of a scuffle between a judicial officer and a senior member on the club premises.

The notice issued to Punjab Highway Patrol police, Faisalabad, SP Mirza Anjum Kamal by club secretary Asghar Ali reads: “It has been noted with deep concern that a quarrel took place on May 13 in the tennis court [of the club] and you recorded a video of the incident which was uploaded on social media, damaging repute and prestige of the club.”

He stated that the act of recording and posting the video on social media is an open violation of the club rules and regulations, terming it detrimental to the interest and cause of the club.

He further wrote that the club president, Deputy Commissioner retired Capt Nadim Nasir, has taken serious notice of the video recording with deep concern and has suspended Mr Mirza’s membership till further orders.

“Your entry and entry of your family members in the club is strictly prohibited, neither as a member nor in the capacity of guest,” the notice says, directing the SP to appear before an inquiry committee.

“You are required to explain in writing, why disciplinary action may not be taken against you. Your reply should reach by Thursday till 3pm,” it adds.
