ISLAMABAD, May 8: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed has proceeded to China to witness the first operational flight of the prototype-4 of JF-17 Thunder aircraft, a co-product of Pakistan and China.

According to a press release issued here by the PAF Directorate of Public Relations, the air chief was seen off at the Islamabad International Airport by Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Rashid Kaleem and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Chunxiang.

During his visit, the PAF chief will witness the first operational flight of the JF-17 Thunder aircraft in Chengdu, southwest of China’s Sichuan province.

The JF-17 Thunder, equipped with advanced electronics and weapon systems, is a joint venture between Pakistan and China.
