KARACHI: Zong has launched its locally-hosted cloud platform powered by AI capabilities, boosting the cloud ecosystem in Pakistan.

The platform features enterprise-grade performance and security with low-latency features, making it a robust solution for enterprise cloud requirements.

Z SAIS is a native cloud platform with 40+ solutions across more than seven domains, the company added.

The platform is hosted locally at data centres in Islamabad and Lahore and all services are available through a simple and unified interface.

The services included Kubernetes, Firewall, WAF, Disaster Recovery, Backup Services and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, etc.

It also offers built-in capabilities across Compute, Storage, Business Continuity, Network & Security, etc.

Farooq Raza Khan, Zong’s head of business, said Pakistan is poised for a “cloud revolution” over the next decade.

He said global and local players were investing in cloud ecosystems and Zong aimed to enable this transformation through evolving digital capabilities.

The cloud platform would empower businesses to “harness the full potential of digital innovation — positioning cloud as the backbone of Pakistan’s future economy”.

Earlier, this year, Zong launched Pakistan’s first Large Language Model (LLM) for use cases in the telecom industry. It was capable of customer support and personalised recommendations.
