KHYBER: Militants in the restive Tirah valley of Khyber district killed three young local tribesmen on Friday.

Local sources told Dawn that a group of armed men kidnapped three young residents, Naveed, son of Sher Ghulam; Ibrahim, son of Dr Musawir; and Samad, son of Pawyo Gul; from their homes in the Zangi locality of Malakdin Khel area some two days ago.

They said that all the victims were later found shot dead near their houses.

They said Naveed was the only son of his parents, while another slain young tribesman Ibrahim had married only two weeks before his killing.

The incident saddened residents of Zangi locality.

No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the killing. Families of the victims quoted the abductors as saying that they were involved in leaking information to law enforcement agencies.
