KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead by a trader in Korangi on Friday evening, said police.

Awami Colony police SHO Gul Hasan Kalhoro said that a cloth merchant had an online cloth business.

He arrived at the Shell petrol pump near Singer Chowrangi in Korangi with cloths in his car to make a delivery to his clients, who had called him.

It transpired that the suspects had called him to come there to deliver the goods. The suspects asked him to come aside where they overpowered him. The suspects fired three shots, which hit the car. They took his cash, cloths and other valuables.

As the suspects were fleeing, the trader, who had a licensed pistol, opened fire on them, in which one suspect namely Sarfaraz, 27, was killed but his two accomplice managed to flee.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
