RAWALPINDI: A woman was allegedly gunned down by her husband over a family dispute in the Naseerabad area of Rawalpindi, while a young man was killed in a road traffic accident in Kallar Syedan, police said.

The first incident occurred in Qasimabad, Naseerabad, where a woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband after she refused to accompany him to his in-laws’ house in Swabi.

The victim’s mother lodged an FIR with the police, stating that her daughter had been married to the suspect in Swabi for the past five years.

She had returned to her parents’ house seven months ago after developing differences with her in-laws.

The complainant further said that her son-in-law had arrived from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and stayed with them after reconciling with his wife.

She added that after having lunch, her daughter and husband went into a room to rest. At around 7pm, the family heard noise coming from the room, where the couple was arguing.

Naveed was reportedly insisting that his wife accompany him to his native town, Swabi, but she refused.
