ISLAMABAD: City managers have decided to set up a public library, alongside theme and safari parks in F-9 Park.

These proposed projects were discussed in a meeting chaired by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa.

During the meeting, a briefing was given on the establishment of a modern and state- of- the- art public library in F-9 Park as well as on theme projects and the safari parks.

The design and associated facilities for the modern public library were also covered in the briefing, read a press release.

The CDA chief stated that libraries are the best places for acquiring knowledge and information.

He directed the authorities concerned “to have the best of public library’s design, so that it may pass the test of the process. The construction of the library at F-9 Park will meet international standards and be equipped with all digital facilities.”

The meeting was informed that the public library will provide children with play areas and recreational facilities, in addition to study spaces.

It was directed to ensure membership facilities for Islamabad citizens at the public library once it is completed, and it was further emphasised that the library’s construction and amenities must meet international standards.

During the briefing, participants were informed that the public library will include facilities such as a digital index, social zone, and co-working space.

Space will be allocated for a conference hall to host various events. It was further stated that the public library will have the capacity to house over 500,000 books and more upon completion,” the press release said.

The meeting also discussed tourism-related projects, including the construction of a theme park, Adventure, and Safari Park in F-9 Park. Meanwhile, the meeting was informed that a golf course with 9 holes will also be established somewhere in Islamabad, with a site being explored in this regard.
