DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least 10 houses were gutted in Manjothi area of Nasirabad district on Tuesday after a fire broke out in a house and soon spread across the neighbourhood due to strong winds.

The incident took place in Goth Wadera Ashiq Hussain Umrani. The fire broke out in a house and engulfed nine adjacent houses, completely gutting all household goods and wheat and rice stock, a senior police officer said. He claimed the fire brigade failed to reach in time; however locals controlled the fire themselves.

Nasirabad Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials reached the area and provided relief goods to affected families.

“People should help the victims as they have lost everything in the fire,” urged the chairman of area municipal committee.
