HYDERABAD: Hyderabad divisional commissioner, Bilal Ahmed Memon, has imposed Section 144 on five-mile radius in and around Luari Sharif village, Badin district, from Zilhaj 7th to 11th, 1446 A.H in the light of recommendations of deputy commissioner and SSP of Badin.

According to notification, devotees of Luari Sharif shrine were expected to gather in large numbers during these dates, raising concerns they might perform what they considered to be Haj rituals and might potentially disturb public order and peace in the area.

It prohibited all forms of gatherings, processions of five or more persons, entry of outsiders into Luari Sharif, carrying or displaying of weapons, sticks, stones, wearing caps associated with sectarian groups, chanting religious slogans or songs, delivering speeches and distributing or displaying posters and pamphlets that might incite public sentiment.
