The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says it has been inundated with hundreds of calls from people desperately seeking help amid the bloodshed in Gaza in recent days, a situation that is “overwhelming” and “beyond our capacity to respond”, Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement, it called for “the immediate respect and protection of civilians by all parties during increased military operations”.
“Constant care must be taken to spare them,” it said.
