LAHORE: The Punjab Prisons staff on Saturday early morning brought incarcerated PTI vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology for heart ailment.

The PIC staff conducted Mr Qureshi’s tests. The PTI leader was still at the cardiac care unit, undergoing medical investigations when this report was filed at 8:30pm.

Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar said the government should stop committing excesses against the former foreign minister and that his party’s founder chairman Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi and other political prisoners should be released. He said the government was committing inhumane excesses against the political prisoners at the behest of the Punjab chief minister.
