PESHAWAR, May 6: The government will implement Rs4.1 billion Agribusiness Development and Diversification Project in tribal areas, says a handout.

NWFP Governor Khalilur Rehman was briefed about the project here, it said.

According to the handout, the project was expected to be completed by 2010.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock would execute the project in collaboration with the State Bank and relevant agriculture departments. The ADB would contribute Rs1.9 billion.

Additional Secretary Ministry of Food and Agriculture Mohammad Salim Khan Jhagra told the governor that 8.3 per cent of the total project cost would be utilised in tribal area.
